Some pregnancy, birth or breastfeeding experiences are more difficult than others to recover from. A 3 Step Rewind may be just what you need to help you to move forward, feeling hopeful and positive.

What Is 3 Step Rewind?

How Does It Work?

The technique works by allowing you, whilst in a safe relaxed state, to reprocess the memory so that it becomes stored as an ‘ordinary’, and non-threatening memory rather than one that continually activates a fight, flight or freeze response. This is done by enabling the memory to be moved from the amygdala to the neocortex.

How Long Does It Take?

As soon as we have agreed that Rewind is suitable for you, you can book session 1. Session 2 usually takes place about a week later. Sessions 1 & 2 take around 90 minutes each. Session 3 is a catch up and feedback session, 10-14 days later, and usually lasts around 30-45 minutes.

Where Did it Originate?

The 3 step Rewind is one of a number of trauma healing modalities that use video-visual processing to relieve symptoms of trauma and PTSD. It is rooted in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). More here.

How Do I know If 3 Step Rewind Is Right For Me?

The best way to find out whether Rewind is right for you now, is to schedule a free consultation call.

If Rewind isn’t right for you, I may be able to suggest alternative strategies to help you manage your symptoms.

It may be that a different therapy would be better for you

Rewind is not suitable for some people who have experienced past complex trauma, or for those who are still in the situation that causes trauma

It may be, that right now, it's too soon for you

Our minds and bodies are great at healing themselves, especially if we give them time. If your experience was very recent then it might be better to wait a while

Sometimes just being heard, or discovering what happened is enough

If the trauma you experienced was as a result of not being heard or not understanding what was happening, then you might prefer a Birth Afterthoughts session

  • Session 3. Check in, assess results and feedback
